Saturday blessed with 3 Gold, 5 Silver ADDY awards and good times at annual gala and creative love fest

March 5, 2010

Westin Hotel, Charlotte – Last night AAF Charlotte presented the 2010 ADDY Awards to honor our city’s creative community and it was, in our mind, one of the best we’ve ever attended. As usual, the Westin was swank and comfortable. Not so usual for an awards show: AAF’s planners elevated this year’s show to more than a presentation, making it a truly interactive experience. Using a great deal of creativity, ingenuity and technology, the group created an atmosphere where the audience was literally atwitter. Live tweets from audience members streamed to large screen monitors placed around the venue, keeping everyone connected and making merry.

Also making merry: Saturday reeled in 3 golds and 5 silvers, putting us just behind WrayWard and LGA in terms of medal count with 13 and 12, respectively. (For what it’s worth, this ties us with Netherlands’ haul in Vancouver this year.)

Winning work: Brawley’s Beverage, Corvidae Wine Co., Hair Care and our own Saturday promotional candy bar. Winning people: Mike Carroll Photography, Mike Brawley of Brawley’s Beverage, David O’Reilly of Corvidae Wine Co., Gina Caruso, Mark Biller, Marilyn Trockel of Loftin & Co. Printers and Jason Owens of Wentworth Printing. If you ever have the chance to work with any of these folks, do it!
